I can taste the end

Sun Apr 26, 2009, 4:25 PM
And I don't know what I'll do with myself. Eight days and I will be completely through with courses at LSCC. I've got a pretty full week until then, but this last leg is exciting. For once in the semester it feels like there's something to look forward to after these projects are finished, not just more of the same as soon as I get done with the current batch. I don't get excited much, but this is pretty exciting. I'll probably go into a depressive slump once I'm finally free enough to think and act outside of the constraints of school projects, but we'll see.

Also, I'm so ready to sit down and sort through and upload some artwork. Stand by, only another week or so...

Need Music

Thu Apr 9, 2009, 9:14 PM
This has been horrible, I've had no one to play with for years. I've done cover songs, but I need originality and energy-- and playing with you dad doesn't cut it.

Different note: I got a bunch of free film today, but it's all outdated. We'll see if it's any good... And I carved a duck out of plaster. First stab at sculpting a hard piece of material, I'll post photos when I post everything else. In May. But here's to hoping that the next crowd of people I'm involved with has some liveliness and musical enthusiasm!

Made it!

I don't have much to say, except that I got my portfolio submitted, which was an incredibly hellacious feat. Ended up physically handing it in twenty minutes before the deadline. Seems like I could have not pushed it to the last minute, but really, that was the only way. Anyway, need a new journal to replace the doubtful, nauseatingly tense mood of the last entry.

Twenty

Tue Mar 3, 2009, 8:24 PM
What an age! I can still buy tobacco and be tried as an adult, and still can't buy alcohol. Also, my best friend called me today for something completely unrelated, and forgot that it was even my birthday. Thanks Josh! But it's all good.

Other news: Portfolio crunch, everything will be completed by Thursday noon, photographed next week. Hoorah. Also, I got a new camera! A Nikon D80. Looking forward to having time to get to know it.

That's all I got,

Correctivity

Sun Jan 25, 2009, 3:15 PM
I'd like my journal to be a little less wonky. I can't stand to write things that contain ridiculous mistakes (same word used twice in a sentence, etc). So, even though I have almost nothing to say, this entry still serves a purpose.

Also, I did get some photos taken, and I think they'll be right-pretty. Hope to show this week.

Oh, and I submitted my application to UF. Dumb me, freaking out, assuming the requirements weren't clear on the website... could have had it submitted weeks ago if I didn't think I had to write an essay for it. So now it's portfolio 110%.
